Do you find that you are getting outbid on all your offers? Well, join the club - all my buyers have had it happen at least a few times. The key is patience and perseverance as well as having a Realtor with a lot of energy to keep going when you feel like giving up.
There are rapid signs that the decrease in available housing inventory, the increase in median price and the eventual end to the $8000 first time home buyer credit is attracting all those buyers that were sitting on the fence a year ago. However, it's still important to keep your eye on things like "is this still a good deal or am I overpaying because I'm done with competing with all these other buyers?".
Clearly, buyers need to be able to react quickly and decisively during times like these but that shouldn't mean you sacrifice all those things that were important to you when you first started your home search like a good school district, family neighborhood, and easy commute.
So keep your chin up, and be ready when your agent says "this looks like the one and it's a great deal", and you will soon be in that home!
